The Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP COVID-19 Information Network

Program Description

The Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP COVID-19 Information Network provides information and resources for individuals in underserved communities that are high/at-risk for COVID-19.

The Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP will host online live meetings, as well as question/answer platforms commentated by community professionals who can provide information and guidance to resources where solutions can be obtained.

Our professionals will help to keep people in underserved communities informed, safe and supported. Our online platform will target issues specific to African American Communities impacted by the COVID19 Pandemic.

Our goal will be to educate, inform and lead people to the vast COVID19 resources made available by our local and federal government.

Who Are We

The Beverly Hills/Hollywood Branch of the NAACP is known as the “Keeper of the Image” The main focus of the Branch is a commitment to continue to address issues concerning people of color in Region 1 and the Hollywood Industry. Our team of volunteers work many hours on branch committees implementing and designing activities which address Youth Development, Education, legal Redress, Veterans, Health, Women of Excellence, and Performing Arts Events.

Why Do We Exist?

Founded in 1909 in response to the ongoing violence and systemic racism against Black people and people of color around the country, the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) is the largest and most pre-eminent civil rights organization in the nation. The mission of the NAACP is to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons.

The NAACP has as its mission the goal of eliminating race prejudice and removing all barriers of racial discrimination through democratic processes.

The NAACP Covid-19 Information Network will provide information and resources to individuals in underserved communities that are high/at risk for COVID-19. We will use a novel approach to promote social distancing messages, facts about the vaccine, facts about opening schools, direct contact to COVID Resources already identified by the City of LA, using social media campaigns, townhouse meetings and other avenues translated into a culturally sensitive manner, and in dialect that allows all at risk to understand the information
